I took a photo of this little guy on our farm in Rockbridge County, Virginia. I had a difficult time identifying what he was because his tail feathers were missing. A specialist from Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center confirmed that he was a field sparrow and that he most likely escaped a cat attack and lost his tail feathers in the struggle.
